the parish website scheme: language issues
The guidance material on this website is written in English and describes adding a site in the langauge of English. We hope to add this guide in Welsh shortly, but please note that everything described here in English is also possible in Welsh in order to add a wholly Welsh website.
To create a website in Welsh
If you want to add the website in the language of Welsh, you can do this by selecting the “Cymraeg” tab at the top right hand corner of the screen when you get to the “Add Parish Website” form, as shown below.

You can then to continue to fill in the form, in exactly the same way as we describe in English.
To create a website in English and in Welsh
If you want to add the website in both English and Welsh, then it’s simple – add the website in one language first, and then return to this form at http://www.churchinwales.org.uk/parishholding/master and add the website in the other language by choosing the correct tab from the top of the screen.
Once you have added your website in both languages, then language tabs like the one shown in the top-right hand corner will appear when people look at your website, to let them know that they can change the language of the page that they are looking at.
Optional areas
When you come to add or edit content to your website, you can do this in exactly the same way in English and in Welsh. If you want to swap between English and Welsh, you can do this by using the language tabs at the top-right hand-corner of the screen as above.
